We all have happy, exciting moments in life we like to share with others about...celebrations, birthdays, sporting events, getting a great deal on sale, and many other everyday life events. So where do we go to share our excitement? Facebook? Twitter? Text our friends or family? Phone call? Email? Postcard?
What about when life hits us hard? When we're just not our best, or feeling sad or depressed? Or just stressed out? Where do we go then? Do we share with the same people about our rough times as well as our good? Or do we withdraw or withhold how we are really feeling? Sometimes, friends and family may not understand or they are too close to the situation to be open, honest, or objective with us. This is where we may find ourselves at the doctor's office because we may have some physical symptoms that have popped up along with how we are feeling. So we may tell our doctor about how we are doing...after all, the doc's in the healing profession so he'd be a good choice. Or perhaps a priest or pastor, or religious leader may be where we go. And of course, there is a counselor.
When it's time to share "private" matters, go to someone who you can trust...who will be able to listen and hold in confidence your hurts and hopefully for you to gain solace and refreshment through it all.
